Incredible famous Hollywood productions made in Almeria
So many films have been made in this area. When our son was over earlier in the year we did a 4x4 drive into the desert where we were shown the exaction loctaion of many of the movies.
So which ones would you recognise?
Game of Thrones
The fight of the 9 noble families for control over the lands of Westeros, while an ancient enemy returns after being dormant for milennia was filmed here. Many recognisable spots are seen throughout the TV show
Black Mirror
The last episide of the sci-fi show, Black Museum, where a bunch of very creepy items are on displaye was filmed very close to Mojacar in the old Alfaro restaurant in Tabernas
Blade Runner 2049
The 'mar de plastico' in Almeria is a ocean of greenhouses. This plastic ocean of Almeria (not the prettiest view!) is the steart of the Blade Runner film
Terminator: Dark Fate
The T-800 terminator cybernetic organism with living tissue over a hyperalloy endoskeleton was filmed in the Tabernas Desert
Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade
Parts of this were filmed in Europe's only desert, just a short 40 minutes from Casa Torreta Blanca. Scenes were also filmed in Cabo de Gato beach with its very recognisable rock
