For people ready to press pause and make time for life’s simple pleasures
A Slow Living, Slow Food Escape
Limited to 8 people
We hear you…'fine' means worn out
It’s normal, right?
Still getting things done, always reliable, fuelled by caffeine and adrenaline.
That’s ok, we’ve been there too.
And we know that making time to take ‘time out’ can feel a little…
…risky? Uncomfortable? Odd?
Somewhere along the way, this did become the ‘norm’.
And rest feels like something you have to earn.
So, the question isn’t when will you stop.
It’s this:
When is enough…enough?
This Escape Is For You If...
You feel permanently ‘on’ even when you’re meant to be relaxing
- Meals are eaten on the run or in a rush, even if you promised yourself you would slow down
- You’re tired (make that exhausted) but sleep doesn’t leave you feeling rested and refreshed
- You want to rest without being told how to do it, or being promised a quick fix
Some guests are brand new to slowing down. Others already know its value and want a reset.
Both belong here.
The Slow Living Escape is your permission to pause
- To put the endless ‘to-do’ list down
- To find someone else to walk the dog and feed the cat
- To put on an out-of-office message and close down the overheated laptop
Imagine this...
Five days just for you.
An introduction to Slow Living and Slow Food.
Not as ideas but as experiences to allow your body to stand down from being on constant alert and restore your energy
Away from rushing and holding it all together
How your day might ‘be’
A slow breakfast with proper conversation – no rushing, no scrolling.
A gentle morning session around pace, rest, food, and presence.
After that, the day is yours.
You might walk, nap, read, swim and sit with a coffee in the sun. Or do absolutely nothing at all.
There’s time for hands-on slow food moments, using simple Mediterranean recipes and local ingredients.
Lunches and dinners are long and shared, the way food was always meant to be eaten.
Evenings are quiet, on purpose.
- If you like your own space, you’ll have it.
- If you like company, you’ll find it.
- If you like both, you’ll fit right in.
We’re committed to turning your exhaustion into remembering how it feels to move at a human pace, so you can experience what ‘slow’ means for you
You don’t have to change everything to slow down
We’re inviting you to step out of ‘on’ mode for a few days
We remove the rush.
And replace it with an experience that allows your body to step down from constant alert to restore your energy.
The Slow Living Experience is not…
- A detox
- A productivity retreat, or
- A self-improvement programme
Where everything is optional, and nothing is demanded of you
- Unstructured, unhurried days where you can rest without guilt
- A peaceful setting where there are no agendas to stick to and no one is keeping score!
- Leisurely mealtimes, where you get to actually taste your food (not on the run) and savour home-cooked, local and traditional food
- Gentle group sessions exploring pace, rest and nourishment
- Hands-on slow food experiences (simple, satisfying, Mediterranean)
- Time without constant stimulation, notifications or any kind of pressure to be productive
Casa Torreta Blanca, your place to pause and slow things down
Set in the mountains of Almeria, southern Spain, life here feels quiet and unhurried.
You’ll find:
- quiet indoor and outdoor spaces to read, nap or simply be
- a pool for unhurried swims or floating with no purpose
- shaded terraces and open views for sitting and doing very little
- comfortable bedrooms for sleep that leaves you feeling well rested
- there’s WiFi if you need it, with no expectation that you use it
We’d love to welcome you to a place where you can eat well, rest deeply, and truly switch off.

The food and the way its shared

The food here is enjoyed slowly as part of your experience, not squeezed in between plans and pressing commitments.
Almeria Province is still deeply traditional and that way of life shapes how food is grown, cooked, and shared.
We love it that way.
Our meals are inspired by the Mediterranean coast with Moorish and South American influences, plus a few favourites from our travels.
We cater for dietary needs and preferences.
And yes, everybody knows the Mediterranean diet is ‘healthy’, but the secret isn’t just the ingredients.
It’s the way it’s eaten:
Together, making time for conversation.
Slowly, so your body can settle and enjoy the moment without rushing back to life because the best experiences always linger.
This is where the real benefit lies
What’s included:
- Airport transfers from Alicante
- 4 nights’ accommodation at Casa Torreta Blanca
- Full board (all meals included)
What’s not included:

Slowing down doesn’t have to end when you leave

What nourishes you
What feels sustainable to change and what doesn’t
You’ll leave with a clear understanding of:
- What slow means to you
- Small realistic ways to protect your time and energy
- Reassurance that you don’t have to overhaul your life to feel better in it

Can I fly into a different airport?
Airport transfers from Alicante are included, which is the easiest option.
If you’re arriving at a different airport, let us know, and we’ll happily suggest the best way to reach Casa Torreta Blanca.
Travel from other airports would be at your own cost.
Do I have to take part in everything?
No. You can join in as much or as little as you like.
Group sessions are informal and low-key, with no expectation to share or speak unless you want to.
Is this overly spiritual or ‘woo’?
No. It’s a simple, slow-down experience and not a spiritual retreat, where you can switch off and rest.
